Knowledge Saves Lives (KSL), Inc.
Site Specific Lockdown Training / Active Threat Training (ATS)
KSL Inc.'s one day, 4-hour, training program provides interactive, site-specific layers of protection from an active threat on your property. KSL builds a site-specific curriculum based on the layout of the property or campus. The training is designed for up to 125 employees (both full-time and part-time) of the site.
All employees walk through several site-specific scenarios to help give them multiple physical
response options during an emergency. The KSL team of veteran first responders and law enforcement instructors give your attendees response options to different situations and empower them to make the right decisions, during an emergency.
KSL instructors will build a custom curriculum to give your staff realistic and positive responses to an
emergency. The team will also coordinate with your local law enforcement agency and other first
responders to work together for a unified response.
The training is designed specifically for each campus and is for staff only.
Having trained staff reduces the negative effects of including children in lockdown drills.
The KSL training model of site-specific training is being used by hundreds of K-12, CCD and
CSU campuses in California.
In 2019 over 30,000 K-12, CCD and CSU employees rated it 98/100 and called it an
“empowering training” on the course evaluation.
KSL is a proud training provider for ASCIP, The Orange County Department of Education and
numerous Local Educational Agencies.
Each campus receives a certificate of training that exceeds DHS, OSHA and CDE standards.
