Cory joined CBL Training and Consulting in April of 2015. He serves as an outdoor adventure and fieldcraft instructor as well as a consultant on CBLTAC's tactical bio-psychology endeavors.
Cory is currently a California State Peace Officer assigned to a specialized unit. As a peace officer he has been assigned as a patrol officer in South Los Angeles and South Sacramento. Cory has also served as a general crimes and felony investigations officer in the South Sacramento area. Later, he earned a position as a general crimes investigator in the greater Sacramento region and has served as a K-9 officer. Aside from his primary duties Cory has been assigned to a state Special Response Team (SRT) and has served as a team member of a state Warrant Service Team.
Cory has received specialized training in behavior analysis, interview and interrogation, crime scene investigations (CSI), auto theft, narcotic interdiction, and drug recognition evaluation. He is a California POST certified detective and he is also a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).
Cory is an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln from 1998 to 2002 as an aviation ordnanceman. His enlistment had many deployments to include a 6 month Western Pacific deployment to the Persian Gulf and actively participated in enforcing U.S. enacted no fly zones. While aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, Cory was a supervisor of a bomb assembly crew. He was also a member of the "Ships Self Defense Force" tactical team.
When Cory is not at work he is an avid outdoorsman. He loves routinely hiking, camping, and fishing with his family. As he is always increasing his outdoor adventure and fieldcraft skills, he frequently participates in personal and CBLTAC related adventures and expeditions. He often takes advantage of the wide spectrum of outdoor adventure opportunities in the California region: ocean, mountains, and desert... Often on foot as an ultra runner and 100 mile finisher.
